Are you concerned about Obamacare’s conscience-violating requirement that Catholic employers pay for abortifacients – drugs that cause abortion, voluntary sterilization, and other forms of illicit birth control? 

Our society is in a moral meltdown and few seem to know how to stop it. This message proposes a real long-term solution, but not an easy one. 

Did you know that the last time in America that Christians successfully confronted birth control, the fight was led by Evangelical Protestants? 

In a nutshell, to win the current fight against Obamacare’s birth control mandate, we are going to need a strong Evangelical and Catholic coalition against birth control – not just a coalition against Obamacare, but a real, vital, deeply held opposition to birth control itself. Freedom rallies and political opposition to Obamacare’s mandate are not nearly as strong as a deeply held religious conviction – the stuff that makes for societal producing salt that isn’t trodden under foot by men. 

Hoping that Evangelicals will confront birth control isn’t pie-in-the-sky wishful thinking. It’s a part of Evangelicals own 20^th century history. The problem is that Evangelicals have forgotten this vital chapter of their own history.
